Hello everyone! Next week we are having Planillas at Prepa Tec, planillas is when we give food to promote ourselves in the school, so people can vote for us to be the next in charge of the student council. For this week blog I would post opinion of a person that already realized BASE jumping, and with this, you can get an idea of how is making BASE jumping.

“BASE jumping is without a doubt my favorite sport in the world. If I had to give up all other activities and keep only one, it would be BASE. The feeling you get when you leap off of a stationary object is like nothing else in the world. NOTHING. You are jumping into dead space, with absolutely no noise or wind resistance. Since the object starts from a standstill, you experience the full effect of acceleration toward terminal velocity. This is entirely different form jumping out of a noisy airplane that already has velocity and is creating wind resistance. Don’t get me wrong. Jumping out of an airplane still fells incredible, but just cannot touch a fixed object exit”. (Troyhartman)

This adventurist also comment in his blog that BASE jumping has little “secrets” because is illegal in a huge number of places.  Try something new, and ALWAYS use the right protection for your safety. And remember:

Underwater BASE Jumping

Hello, I hope that you are doing really well! On my last blog I post that I was going to jump in a bungee. I was planning this with my friends, but unfortunately my friends in the last minute they decide that they don’t want to jump, so I didn’t had someone that go with me. But I really want to make this jump, and I will plan it again. I am entering to third partial, I cannot believe that my third semester is almost over, time is going really fast! My advice for you is to enjoy every moment and experiment new things like BASE JUMPING. I would continue talking about this activity and I promise that I will research each time more to make it more interesting for you.

If you click on the last link that I put, you would see a video of UNDERWATER BASE JUMPING. This is not an official sport like BASE Jumping, but it was like an experiment for a group of people. For me, underwater base jumping, is more scary that normal BASE jumping, because is dark and you don’t see were you are going or what is under there. Yes, is true that you are falling more slowly, but I preferred to have a rapidly fall, than a constant, scary fall.

Bungee Jumping

Hi everyone, yesterday my grades were complete and I magically got 91 in my English class. Believe me; I don’t know how I did that. Next Wednesday I’m getting seventeen and for my present I ask to go to Cola de Caballo and make a bungee jump. I would tell you how everything goes next week. Bungee in a way is similar to BASE jumping because with the both of them you make a free fall. So in this blog I would tell you more about bungee.

The difference between BASE jumping and bungee jumping is that in this activity, it involved jumping from a high surface while you are attached to an elastic cord. One end of this elastic cord is attached to the jumper’s body, while the other is attached to a stationary object at the jumping point. Typically, bungee jumping involves leaping from jumping points that are several hundred feet or meters high. The elastic cord used in this activity is designed to stretch during the jumper’s fall and snap back up rapidity. This causes the jumper to bounce up and down over the length of the jumping area until the energy from the jump has been depleted. Successful bungee jumps can be attributed to the development of safety standards and the strict adherence to guidelines for jumping. (Wisegeek)
