The legend Dean Potter

Hello world! It is me again; I hope you are doing great! in my last post I  upload a video about Dean Potter, and in this I am going to talk about it; now maybe you are asking, who is Dean Potter?
The 28 years old Dean is a legend of the BASE jumping, he combine extreme activities like walking in a rope in the middle of a canyon before throwing himself of unreasonable heights to practice the BASE jumping sport. He also invented the wing suit; this suit makes the effect of wings that make you feel that you are flying when you throw yourself in the middle of nowhere.
Dean can be even flying through the air in a wing-suit or balancing on a 30-foot long ‘slack lines’ hundreds of feet above a valet floor. But once, one of his most spectacular jumps was on the 13,000 feet Eiger Mountain in Switzerland using for first time his free-base climbing method, this mean, with not security on him.
Dean is constantly pushing the boundaries of human limit, Dean always make public amazing photographs of his abilities, this pictures are captures by his friend and climbing college Beat Kammerlander,
Now I am going to tell you more about the wing-suit, this ideas I found it completely interesting. The wing-suit “shapes the human body into an airfol which can create the lift. The wing-suit creates the airfol with fabric between the legs and under the arms. The public may control commonly refer to a wing-suit as bird man suit or squirrel suit” (Bird-man).
To finish, I only remember you that if you want to practice BASE jumping don’t forget your security suit and incredible desires of experimenting something new. So try it!

Let’s go, wherever you jump; take only pictures, leave only footprints!

New Sport?

Hello world! On this semester for English class Mr. Jordan, my teacher, give us a lot of interesting topics that we can choose for creating a blog; the true is that I want others but the topic of BASE jumping look quite interesting. So, here we go.

When I heard BASE jumping the true is that I didn’t have any idea of what it is, so Base Jumping is an activity that employs and initially packed parachute to jump from fixed objects, this is a highly dangerous sport that can easily injure and kill participants. For doing this sport always seek proper training and mentoring before attempting any sort of jump.

“B.A.S.E” is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: buildings, antennas, spans (bridges), and earth (cliffs). The acronym “B.A.S.E” was created by the filmmaker Carl Boenish, Carl in 1978 was the real catalyst behind modern BASE jumping, he filmed the first BASE jump using a ram-air parachute and the free fall tracking from the El Capitan, in Yosemite National Park. So the BASE jumping was invented in The Capitan.

30 years ago, nearly all BASE jumps were made using standard skydiving equipment, including two parachutes (the main and the reserve). Now, specialized equipment and techniques were developed and are designed specifically for the unique needs of BASE jumping.

BASE jumps are generally made from much lower altitudes than skydives, and a BASE jump takes places closer to the object serving as the jump platform because they generally do slower airspeed than typical skydives (and limited altitude), and achieve terminal velocities. Higher airspeed enable jumpers more aerodynamic control of their bodies, as well as more positive and quick parachute openings. So if you are going to do it save, try it!

Let’s go, wherever you jump; take only pictures, leave only footprints!
