Mexico is a country full of culture and traditions, is a country with great diversity of animals and plants, and is amazing how the way of think and act of people change between every state. In Nuevo León, the place I live, is a state that over the time we adapt American traditions for the location and the closest we are to the USA, but we still conserve our live-time traditions. One clear example of this is that people still meets with their family all Sundays to go eat their typical food. When we think about our state, we think about El Cerro de la Silla and the typical milk candies that are delicious.
The most I like of Mexico is that when want to represent the country in their dances or food, you are forced to represent each state separately. When we think in Jalisco we remember the mariachi, when we remind Puebla we think of the typical mole and La China Poblana. La China Poblana is more than a typical dress; her colorful dress became synonymous with femininity and tradition. When we remember Veracruz the first think that come into our minds are the Voladores de Panpantlan that is a traditions that our ancestors created hundreds of years ago. Merida is another state with thousand of culture of our ancestors, a clear example is La Pirámide del Sol that is in Chichen Itza and that is one of the 7 wonders of the world.
Mexico is a big country and is so different in every state, in every city, in every family. But in the entire country we have the same beliefs, the same desire to succeed, to improve, to be a better country every single day; in all the country we celebrate the same holidays and more this year that we are celebrating our bicentennial of been a independent country. And I can say that I’m proud to be Mexican and I am sure that my opinion is not going to change because Mexico is a country full of culture, tradition, desire to be better and I want to live and defend my country all my life.
